This is another cover I made for a dear friend, it's her first book!!
I started the painting almost a year ago, but then stopped because of delays in the publication. So, when I started again, I had to go on with an "old" painting... is not something I'm used to but it has been quite challenging!

I had this tree that I was starting to paint in a realistic way that I didn't like anymore... it felt too dark and to weigh too much in the cover... so I decided to make it graphical. :XD: My friend got a bit shocked when she received the email with this solution... but then she's got a like for it too! :P To say the truth, I was so happy with my tree that I didn't want to put the guys on the cover anymore... just the tree and the symbol: perfect! :XD:
Well, as you can see I didn't had my way :P (I hope they'll put my tree on the back of the book!)
I have to admit that smile of her drove me crazy for a while... I had to totally repaint her face three times. ^^;

In this painting (and in the future ones, I suppose) I'm trying to get a more painterly feeling... and not to blend out every single brushstroke. I find it more interesting, but I know I have to work on my brushstrokes much more in the time to come to give it some real sense... if you want to show your brushstrokes, they have to be the correct ones and not as messy as mine...

PS: the title and font and things... are not definitive. The publisher's graphic specialist will take care of them, this is just my indicative graphic but I made it with Painter and the letters are not even correctly aligned and spaced... but I think that showing the image without the lettering this time would have been like something was missing.

noto una maggiore spontaneità nella ragazza piuttosto che nel ragazzo, ma che dire se non: TI CAPISCO!

Tu non sai quante volte l'ho rifatta, la ragazza :P
Comunque si, alla fine e' venuta meglio lei... Ma anche i colori contribuiscono a metterlo un po' in secondo piano :P
Grazie Giu! comunque questo e' un disegno strano... Vedendolo su libro penso sia una delle mie copertine migliori, su web invece perde moltissimo e ogni tanto dico "uhmmmmm...."

no l'illu nel complesso è dawero molto molto bella, sono sicura che poi stampata rende un sacco :)
forse è un po' meno nel tuo solito stile, ma non saprei dirti perchè O_O
forse la grafica di sfondo? forse perchè è un po' più granulosa?
non so ma non è una critica, visto che per di più stai sperimentando.
anzi, un domani questo sarà tutto tuo e personale e ti farà riconoscere in mezzo a mille ^-^

^^ oooh, ne dovresti vedere di cose che non sono nel mio solito stile che ho fatto durante quest'anno!! :XD: tra frutta ad acquerello e illustrazioni per le elementari...
no, sto sperimentando parecchio! ho un sacco di esperienze e persone che mi influenzano, la parte negativa è che sono un po' incostante, la parte postiva è che ad un certo punto "digerirò" queste cose in qualcosa di mio (spero!)
