The long journey home

This is a personal work I made because... ok, I needed at least a painting in my portfolio with some environment!
I actually like very much to paint natural environment, but recently in my paintings I always had a very minimal background.
So I did this one as an exercise, both for background and to work on my brushstrokes.
I used some very light reference from sxc.hu, for the mountains, but mostly to understand things than to actually copy them.
As you may guess from the snowy subject, I started this some months ago, but since this spring seems late to come, it's still quite fitting!
